We have some general beliefs and advice when it comes to building a performance(not race) 1275 (or smaller engine)

We recommend basic design to keep the brilliant torque characteristics of the original engine, not using more than 7000rpm, keeping all port sizes small to

keep gas velocity up,,wedging crankshafts to improve harmonics and engine life, and full rotational balancing.. If possible gear and final drive ratios that

allow the engine revs to be below 4000rpm at your highway cruising speeds. This makes an overall longer life engine, comfortable driving and very good

pulling power. Fuel supply can come from SU, twin SU, weber or Injection, and compression ratio needs to be as high as the fuel you use allows.
